About the Role
As an Engineer in DBO Domain you’ll play a key role in helping to design and develop distributed messaging solutions working with a team of developers.
To be successful in this role, you will bring your strong communication skills, technical expertise and analytical/problem solving abilities to drive tangible solutions allowing the Tech Area to fulfil its mission statement.

What will your day look like?
- Work with operations and architecture groups developing scalable, innovative and supportable solutions.
- Work with the Technology Product Owner and the squad to ensure the technical design is aligned to the initiative goal and objectives.
- Provide ongoing support for platforms as required e.g. problem and incident management
- Creates estimates and continuously reviews demand within the individual Squads/teams
- Utilises tools and practices to build, verify and deploy solutions in the most efficient ways, enhancing tech division capabilities
- Take ownership of issues and provide technical opinions/knowledge to the team.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

Robust knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming, Architecture and Design Patterns, Microservices, Distributed Messaging and Integration.
-
Strong hands-on experience with Java 8 or 11, Kafka, OpenShift, Spring boot, Spring framework, Rest Services, ORM like Hibernate.

Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Java Programmer, Kafka Certification, AWS) are a plus.
-
Experience with API's and associated benefits and supporting large scale API versioning with backward compatibility.

Proficient skills with tools used in software development lifecycle, such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, JIRA, GitHub, Gradle, Kubernetes & Docker etc.

Experience with CI/CD & DevOps, Bamboo, Artefactory, Codefresh.

Proven problem-solving ability and the ability to work individually as well as within a team environment

Solid understanding of and experience with relational and non-relational databases such as Mongo DB, SQL Server or PostgreSQL.

Knowledge of automated testing techniques using Jest, Selenium, WebDriverIO, Cucumber Framework.

Knowledge about Single Page application, ReactJS, Redux and NodeJS

Knowledge about Cloud platforms like AWS or GCP.
