About the Role

 

You will be part of the Institutional KYC QC Team, a global hub supporting Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, London, Frankfurt, Paris, the US, India, the Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, and PNG. Working closely with Compliance and Operations, you will help ensure the timely onboarding and review of Institutional & Markets clients.

 

As a KYC Quality Specialist, within the Institutional KYC QC Team, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening ANZ’s financial crime controls by ensuring the quality, accuracy, and completeness of Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Ongoing Customer Due Diligence (OCDD). You will collaborate with Compliance, Operations, and frontline teams to ensure KYC outcomes meet regulatory expectations and deliver a seamless customer experience.

 

In this role, you will be accountable for conducting deep-dive QA reviews, ensuring files meet global and local standards, identifying gaps, and supporting continuous improvement. You will act as an SME and advisor to stakeholders, helping uplift understanding of KYC requirements across the bank.

What will your day look like?

 

In this role, you will support the Institutional KYC QC Team in ensuring accurate, compliant, and high-quality KYC outcomes across multiple jurisdictions. A typical day may include:

 

  • Conducting detailed QA reviews of New-to-Bank and Periodic Review KYC files across various risk levels and client types, ensuring compliance with ANZ policies and global/local regulatory requirements.

  • Validating customer data across onboarding and lifecycle management systems, ensuring information is accurate, complete, and correctly linked.

  • Engaging with Compliance, Onboarding, and frontline teams to clarify observations, resolve discrepancies, and ensure issues are addressed in a timely and customer-centric manner.

  • Identifying trends, control gaps, and recurring errors, and providing feedback and actionable insights to uplift overall quality and reduce rework.

  • Participating in calibration sessions, knowledge sharing, and on-the-job training to enhance capability within the QC team and broader KYC community.

  • Reviewing process documentation, including KOPs, workflows, and procedures, to ensure they remain current, compliant, and aligned with audit and risk expectations.

  • Supporting governance and assurance activities, including audit requests, BIA inputs, and internal reviews to maintain high control standards.

  • Collaborating with stakeholders across regions to support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a consistent, high-quality KYC experience for ANZ customers.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • 5+ years of AML/KYC experience in Institutional, Corporate, or FI banking environments, including strong QA review exposure.
  • Strong knowledge of end-to-end CDD/OCDD processes across multiple jurisdictions and client types (Trusts, Charities, Corporates, FIs, Listed/Regulated entities, Government, etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of global regulations (FATCA, CRS, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, MiFID, Volcker) and experience with KYC systems/workflows.
  • Advanced Excel and data-quality skills.
  • Professional certifications (ACAMS, ICA, FINRA) or postgraduate qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Master’s Degree / ACAMS / ICA preferred
