About the Role

As an analyst in our Engineering, Tooling & Data Services team, you will support data-related services for technology including data analytics, data management, support audit procedures, reporting and compliance and risk management.

What will your day look like?

  • Develop strategic vision on how advanced analytics and AI can revolutionize Technology Data Management and align this vision with the broader organizational goals to maximize efficiency.

  • Drive the analysis, development and implementation of advanced analytics models, algorithms, data mining, statistical methods, and machine learning techniques to solve complex data problems and generate actional insights. 

  • Collaborate with data owners, data producers and data consumers to identify data sources, provisioning points and data governance rules and develop strategies for data modelling and integration. 

  • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and validity of analytical models and solutions through rigorous testing, validation, and documentation processes.

  • Empathetic and supportive as a senior team member, focused on empowering and selflessly growing the knowledge and skills of another team member.

  • Collaborate with cross data governance teams to ensure alignment with data regulation.

  • Develop clear guidelines with practical implementation to streamline processes with minimal complexity and maximum efficiency to applicable policies and standards.

  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the team. Encourage experimentation, learning, and knowledge sharing to stay at the forefront of analytics trends and best practices.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Overall Experience: 8+ years in data engineering and analysis, with extensive expertise in SQL.

  • Data Governance and Quality: Strong knowledge of data governance, quality, and management practices for compliance.

  • Data Architecture: Good understanding of data architecture, including conceptual data models, data lineage, and visualization/reporting metrics.

  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, using exploratory techniques to identify trends and insights.

  • Business Analysis: Proficient in business analysis, including elicitation techniques and defining requirements in complex environments.

  • Complexity Management: Courageous in tackling complexity and simplifying challenges.

  • Passion for Data: Strong passion and curiosity for data, driving continuous learning and improvement.

  • Customer-Centric Approach: Ability to explore customer needs in a data-driven way, developing innovative solutions and evaluating outcomes.

  • Data Life Cycle Understanding: Comprehensive understanding of the data life cycle, especially in uplifting data governance initiatives at ANZ.

  • Educational Background: Holds a relevant degree in business, science, technology, or equivalent experience.

  • Data Science and Advanced Analytics: Minimum of 3 years of experience in data science and advanced analytics, with a proven track record of impactful solutions.
