Data Analyst - Workforce Governance
About Us
At ANZ, we're applying new ways technology and data can be harnessed as we work towards a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.
About the Role
As a Data Analyst in Workforce Governance, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that scaled and complex people and position HR data changes are structured for successful execution in SuccessFactors with minimal errors.
ANZ’s transformation agenda means large volumes of change will continue to impact people and position data. You’ll help structure, validate and analyse workforce data so changes can be executed effectively, accurately and with strong controls.
Over time, this role will also support continuous improvement initiatives that simplify processes, strengthen data quality and uplift the way workforce governance reporting and insights are used across the organisation.
Banking is changing and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future, while helping to build ours.
Role Type: Permanent

- Apply validation and quality controls to identify data gaps, inconsistencies and anomalies before changes are batched, sequenced or submitted.
- Structure workforce data to support accurate batching, sequencing and execution of change in SuccessFactors.
- Analyse and report on change execution outcomes, including success rates, errors and opportunities to improve quality for Workforce Governance and other teams executing similar SuccessFactors changes.
- Partner with Workforce Governance Advisors, Talent and Culture Business Partners, Organisational Design leads, business project leads and Employee Central teams to deliver complex changes aligned to project milestones.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong data literacy, data analysis and data management capability, with experience working with complex datasets and quality controls.
- Hands-on experience in Advanced Excel and Python
- Ability to cleanse, validate, reconcile and structure data so it can be used reliably in operational processes and reporting.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data issues, risks, insights and improvement opportunities to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Business acumen and attention to detail, with the ability to understand how workforce data changes affect downstream processes, reporting and controls.
- Experience with reporting, data quality analysis, process improvement or operational analytics in a complex business environment.
- Knowledge of SuccessFactors, HRIS processes, position management, foundation data architectures or workforce governance controls would be highly regarded.
You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ, a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
