Head of Architecture Assurance
Head of Architecture Assurance
About the role
At ANZ our purpose is to shape a world where people and communities thrive. We’re making this happen by constantly looking for ways to improve our customers’ financial wellbeing so they can achieve incredible things – be it buying their home, building a business or saving for things big or small.
Our architects are up close and personal solving real problems, engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders, from the deep technical to senior executive level and effecting change.
This exciting role as the Head of Architecture Assurance in our Architecture & Engineering team is a critical role that connects a team of some 300 architects across ANZ to our patterns, practises and processes inside. This role is essential to ensure we provide structure, guardrails and governance for our technology teams in aligning their work to our enterprise standards.
Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Skilled stakeholder engagement, able to deftly move between senior executive sponsors and deep technology experts. You will have a history of being deeply influential and take pride in stewarding consensus on hard, impactful decisions.
- A strong grounding in common technologies adopted in large established organisations including both well-established platforms and emerging technology capabilities.
- Significant experience in architectural governance. You must hold a strong comprehension of the design and operation of corporate governance and the formality required to make this evidentiary, traceable and efficient.
- Significant experience in directing teams outside of your management structure. You will have a tenured track record of influencing - through soft and hard engagement – distributed teams of technology leaders to produce a coherent and effective governance outcome.
- Deep understanding of full-service banking. You must be able to hold your own with senior business stakeholders on complex business/technology choices typically faced by large financial services institutions. There will be few parts of a bank that you couldn’t give a high-level summary of their purpose, their typical pain points, their typical operating model and common types of platforms.
- Seasoned leadership skills. You will have lead teams and are comfortable participating in, reporting to and influencing senior management on enterprise-wide issues.
- Keen analytical skills; you will be able to demonstrate an insight into understanding problems both through a history of performing this function and by being able to give insights on nascent industry platforms
So, why join us?
This is an exciting time to be a leader within one of Australia's biggest banks as we take advantage of the rapid change and disruption of traditional banking business models.
Our culture is critical to making this happen so that we can adapt, evolve, and to flourish over the long term. That’s why ask our people to focus on three key things: Creating Opportunities, Delivering What matters and Succeeding Together.
We support our leaders with tools, tips and online coaching so that they can help their teams focus on these things too, helping them to grow and succeed in their roles.
ANZ recognises the value of an inclusive and diverse work environment. We take pride in the diversity of our people and encourage applications from diverse candidates. If you are a candidate with a disability, let us know how we can provide you with additional support. Our recruitment decisions are based on the key inherent needs and requirements of each role, and candidates are selected based on their unique strengths and characteristics. We work flexibly at ANZ.
