As the Sourcing Specialist with ANZ’s Procurement function, you’ll support the end-to-end delivery of sourcing initiatives within your category and vendor segment. You’ll help shape and execute sourcing strategies, manage contract renewals, and ensure alignment with category plans to deliver commercial value. This role is all about driving smart outcomes over short- and medium-term horizons while managing risk and building strong supplier relationships across the business.

The Sourcing Specialist role is a dynamic and impactful position newly created within our Technology Procurement team, responsible for supporting a broad range of responsibilities. This role will report to the Software Category Manager with software procurement as the primary focus, however, the role will support the broader technology procurement team across all categories.
Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:
- Support end-to-end sourcing & contracting across software, services and technology products and services, ensuring decisions balance cost, quality, risk and business needs.
- Partner with Category Managers to build and maintain a pipeline of sourcing opportunities aligned with contract renewals, technology roadmaps, and business priorities.
- Assist Category Managers to identify any gaps in categories, emerging technology products/services, and innovation opportunities that deliver commercial and strategic value.
- Assist in delivering sourcing strategies, conducting due diligence, market and supplier analysis, validating price benchmarks, negotiating commercial contract terms.
- Collaborate with internal teams – including Legal, Risk, Finance, and vendors – to ensure well-coordinated sourcing outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and support risk management across sourcing activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on commercial excellence, process efficiency and building trusted relationships that support ANZ’s procurement goals.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 3-5 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management
- Experience in sourcing and negotiating, and contracting with suppliers to deliver strong commercial outcomes and business value , ideally within software, SaaS, or broader technology categories
- Ability to problem-solve and navigate complex or ambiguous situations using a practical, solutions-focused approach.
- Experience working with BS11 or similar regulatory frameworks is preferred, but not essential.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, enabling you to engage, collaborate and influence stakeholders effectively.
- A solid understanding of risk management, governance and control requirements to ensure sourcing activities meet compliance and regulatory expectations to protect the organisation.
- Commercial acumen to analyse cost, value, and risk trade-offs and to support sourcing strategies that align with business and technology objectives.
- Knowledge of supply market dynamics and the full procurement lifecycle – from strategy and sourcing through to contracting and supplier management.
