As the Technology Procurement Portfolio Lead within ANZ’s New Zealand Procurement function, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the technology procurement strategy & execution. This role reports into the Head of Procurement New Zealand & Pacific.
ANZ operates a global operating model for procurement and in this role you will foster strong partnerships between Group Technology, the New Zealand Technology Domain, Business Domains Group Procurement to ensure alignment with business needs and objectives. Leading the Technology procurement portfolio, you will lead ANZ New Zealand’s Technology Procurement Category Management team to guide category strategy and oversee strategic sourcing initiatives that optimise spend, deliver cost savings, mitigate risk, drive innovation and supplier propositions, and strengthen our supplier relationships, to enhance business performance and value.
You’ll champion best practices in category management, strategic sourcing and contracting. Managing our pipeline of technology business requirements and enabling capacity across our Source to Contract delivery model.

The Technology Procurement Portfolio Lead position is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of team leadership responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:
- Act as a trusted partner for Technology stakeholders in New Zealand, building strong relationships to align procurement activities with business priorities and outcomes
- Collaborate in the development of Technology procurement category strategies, leveraging market insights and supplier analysis to optimise spend, deliver cost savings, and mitigate risk
- Oversee sourcing strategy and execution for complex source-to-contract projects, ensuring compliance and value delivery
- Manage and mentor a team of Category Managers and Sourcing Specialists, providing leadership and guidance to drive successful outcomes
- Monitor portfolio and category performance, identifying areas for continuous improvement and mitigating risks
- Collaborate with Group Procurement, Supplier Relationship Management, and Technology Commercial teams, Third Party Risk Management teams to maintain strategic alignment and value-based partnerships
- Ensure regulatory compliance and robust governance across all third-party contracting activities, while driving continuous improvement and innovation

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Deep knowledge of Procurement of IT services, systems, and emerging technologies, including hardware, software, cloud services, and infrastructure
- Proven experience in developing category strategies and managing the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, from requirements gathering to contract negotiation, and post award activities.
- Demonstrated experience in building trusted stakeholder relationships and presenting to executive forums.
- Ability to optimise spend, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure technology services & solutions meet business needs
- Team Leadership experience in mentoring and guiding high-performing procurement teams to deliver strategic outcomes
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills in a technology portfolio to influence stakeholders and drive data-informed decisions
- Understanding of procurement regulations, compliance standards, within the financial services sector or regulated industry, and best practices relevant to Technology procurement.
