Ko Mātou – About Us

Kia Hanga I Te Ao, E Ora Ai, E Tupu Ai, Te Tangata Me Te Kainga. At ANZ, we're shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

Mō te tūranga – About the role

As a Senior Talent Acquisition Consultant, you’ll play a trusted advisory role in shaping thoughtful, inclusive, and high-quality recruitment experiences across ANZ Aotearoa. Partnering closely with our Technology & Data business, you’ll work at the heart of New Zealand’s largest bank, helping us attract and secure the critical technology capability that enables our future.

You’ll lead end-to-end recruitment with care and confidence, taking the time to understand business needs, assess talent thoughtfully, and provide proactive and clear advice to hiring managers, candidates, and key stakeholders. With a solutions-focused mindset, you’ll navigate complexity with ease, taking genuine ownership of the recruitment journey from first conversation through to appointment.

Banking is changing, and we’re changing with it, giving our people great opportunities to try new things, learn, and grow. Whatever your role at ANZ, you’ll be building your future while helping to build ours.

Location: Tāmaki Makaurau or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Auckland or Wellington)
Role Type: 12-month secondment / fixed-term contract, full-time

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? – What will your day look like?

This is a senior recruitment position that combines strategic partnering with strong recruiter craft and hands-on delivery. You’ll operate across a dynamic, priority-driven portfolio, balancing complex searches, competing timelines, and day-to-day recruitment activity, while maintaining a strong focus on quality and candidate experience.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering closely with Technology and Data leaders to understand current and future capability needs, delivering high-quality, end-to-end recruitment across complex and business-critical roles within a fast-moving environment
  • Building trusted relationships with hiring managers and senior stakeholders, providing strategic, data-informed recruitment advice while confidently managing multiple searches and shifting priorities
  • Championing inclusive and equitable hiring practices, actively supporting ANZ’s diversity ambitions and coaching leaders to challenge traditional recruitment thinking
  • Acting as a senior contributor within a high-performing recruitment team, modelling collaboration, shared ownership, and constructive load-sharing during peak volumes
  • Continuously reviewing and uplifting recruitment processes, tools, and practices to improve efficiency, candidate experience, and delivery across a complex, high-volume portfolio
  • Positioning yourself as a subject matter expert in Technology and Data recruitment, leveraging market insights, analytics, and trends to inform hiring strategies and deliver strong outcomes at pace

These are just some of the ways you’ll make your mark — offering the opportunity to influence, shape, and elevate how we attract critical Technology and Data talent across New Zealand’s largest bank.

Ōu Pūkenga? – What will you bring?

To be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Strong experience in internal, in-house recruitment, ideally within a large and complex enterprise environment, with experience recruiting for Technology and/or Data roles (we also welcome transferable recruitment expertise and a willingness to learn new domains)
  • A proven ability to attract, engage, and convert passive talent, including proactive sourcing for scarce and highly competitive skillsets in a candidate-short market
  • Demonstrated stakeholder partnering and influencing skills, with confidence advising and coaching hiring managers on effective, inclusive recruitment practices
  • The ability to balance multiple priorities, adapt quickly to changing business needs, and deliver quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams to navigate challenges and continuously improve outcomes
  • A genuine curiosity about people — candidates and colleagues alike — keeping their experience, needs, and aspirations at the centre of your approach

You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ, a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
