As Senior Manager, Fraud Risk, you’ll play a critical leadership role within ANZ’s First Line of Defence, partnering closely with business teams to manage financial crime and fraud risks across complex, end‑to‑end value chains.
You’ll lead financial crime and fraud risk assessments, support regulatory and policy change, and work with the business to design and embed effective controls into processes, systems and customer journeys. With a strong commercial and customer lens, you’ll translate financial crime requirements into practical business outcomes, influence governance and decision‑making, and help ensure activity operates within risk appetite.
This role acts as a trusted adviser and risk partner, delivering high‑quality specialist first line risk management and assurance, strengthening accountability, building capability, and uplifting risk culture across the organisation.

As a Senior Manager, Fraud Risk, you will be:
- Leading and managing financial crime and fraud risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end‑to‑end value chains
- Partnering with the business to design, uplift and embed effective financial crime and fraud controls aligned to enterprise and regulatory expectations
- Translating financial crime and fraud requirements into clear, practical business language and advising on risk‑based decision‑making
- Supporting regulatory and policy change, including impact assessments and implementation of required changes
- Reviewing control design and effectiveness, identifying gaps and supporting risk-based improvements, remediation planning and delivery
- Providing risk insights, analysis and thematic reporting to governance forums and senior leaders
- Leveraging indicators, analytics and emerging trends (internal and external) to strengthen monitoring of risk and control effectiveness
- Acting as a trusted first line risk partner, reinforcing ownership and accountability for financial crime and fraud risk
- Leading, coaching and developing team members while building financial crime and fraud risk capability across the business

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Deep expertise in financial crime and fraud risk management frameworks, standards and regulatory obligations
- Experience leading complex risk assessments, control design and effectiveness reviews and risk remediation across financial services environments
- Strong judgement and a risk-based mindset, with ability to balance customer, business and regulatory outcomes
- The ability to interpret and translate technical financial crime and fraud requirements and framework standards into clear, business and customer centric embedded solutions
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risk themes, trends and emerging issues
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, operating as a trusted first line risk adviser
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, including preparation of materials for governance and decision‑making
- Proven leadership capability, with experience coaching others and driving capability uplift and a strong risk culture
