Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Senior Engineer plays a key role in uplifting engineering excellence across the department by driving the adoption of modern automation, CI/CD, and secure delivery practices. Working as part of a specialized squad, this role ensures Data Engineering teams use reliable “golden‑path” delivery workflows that are consistent, scalable, and built on strong DevSecOps foundations.
The role also leads Gen AI adoption within engineering by shaping meaningful use cases, running proofs of concept, and guiding teams on safe and effective integration of AI‑assisted coding, testing, and code reviews into the software development lifecycle. Through hands‑on leadership and collaboration, the Senior Engineer helps teams deliver high‑quality, secure solutions faster and with greater confidence.
