As a Senior Data Engineer in our Data Services, Customer Resolution, you’ll play a key role in helping to resolve for customers the impacts of systemic issues within the banks systems and processes. This role is responsible for the design, development and quality of the software solutions changes.

As a Senior Data Engineer you’ll be

  • a technical lead on projects, work in multi-functional agile teams with end-to-end responsibility assisting in the definition of project scope and delivery of required technical outcomes
  • accountable for the technical excellence of the squad, including technical debt management, technical risk management and ensuring alignment to standards and frameworks.
  • Recognised as a technical authority and escalation point for the team, guiding them on the ‘HOW’.
  • accountable for coaching, mentoring and building engineering capability of engineers within a specific squad or group of squads (e.g. across a Customer Resolution)

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

Essential skills

  • Significant experience in SAS, particularly in the SAS macro language

Relevant Experiences

  • Experience in a Customer Resolution or Remediation function

Soft Skills

  • A growth mindset, with a fixation on continuous improvement

Desired Skills

  • At least 8 years experience in SAS
  • Great communication skills with the ability to translate between technical and business language
