Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Homeowners Product Manager, you’ll play a key role in helping Kiwis save for, buy, and pay off affordable, sustainable homes. You’ll own the day to day management of the Home Loan portfolio, balancing customer needs, commercial outcomes, and strong risk management to deliver meaningful value. Working closely with teams across the bank, you’ll help turn ANZ’s home ownership strategy into practical, customer focused solutions that make a real difference.
Banking is changing, and so are we. You’ll be part of a forward thinking, collaborative environment where you’re encouraged to try new things, learn fast, and grow your career — while making a real difference for customers.
Role Type: Multiple opportunities available, including a permanent fulltime role and 24 month fixed term or secondment positions.
Role Location: Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) or Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington)
Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?
The Product Manager position is a hands-on, influential and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:
- Shape and deliver the Home Loan business plan, driving initiatives that lift performance and customer outcomes
- Lead improvements to the end to end home loan customer journey, working closely with stakeholders across ANZ
- Use portfolio data, customer insights, and market trends to identify growth and improvement opportunities
- Enable frontline teams through clear communication, practical training, and fit for purpose guidance — while acting as a key escalation point for pricing and service queries
- Identify and champion smarter ways of working by improving processes, systems, and experiences
- Embed strong nonfinancial risk management into everything you do, aligned with ANZ policy and standards
This position offers flexibility and creativity—you’ll be encouraged to bring your unique perspective and flair to make the role your own.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring a blend of commercial thinking, collaboration, and customer focus. Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Deep experience in home lending products, with a strong understanding of the housing market, customer needs, and the end‑to‑end home loan lifecycle
- Proven experience in banking or financial services, with the ability to translate strategy into practical, customer‑focused outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
- A track record of owning outcomes — planning, prioritising, and delivering initiatives end to end
- A continuous improvement mindset, with a passion for enhancing both customer experience and business performance
- Product management experience (or exposure), with demonstrated ability to deliver value for customers and the organisation
You’re not expected to have 100% of these skills. At ANZ a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture, so if you have most of these things in your toolbox, we’d love to hear from you.
