Mō te tūranga - About the role


As a Product Manager for the Savings portfolio, you will oversee the day-to-day management of savings products to ensure they meet both financial and customer objectives. This role plays a key part in delivering outcomes that align with the organization’s strategic direction, requiring a balance of analytical thinking and customer-centric decision-making.

You will be responsible for keeping savings products competitive and well-managed, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver initiatives that enhance product performance and customer value. This position calls for a proactive approach, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement in a dynamic market environment.

Role Location: Auckland or Wellington
Role Type: 18-month Secondment/Fixed term role
Hours: Standard 37.5 hrs

You will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the development and execution of the Deposits strategy to drive portfolio performance.
  • Leading and supporting initiatives that enhance the Deposit customer experience and deliver positive outcomes, in collaboration with stakeholders across the value chain.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert for Deposit products, serving as the primary point of contact for escalations and stakeholder approvals.
  • Analysing key portfolio metrics and providing actionable insights to improve performance.
  • Supporting frontline lenders through clear, timely communications, training sessions, and reference materials to build capability.
  • Assisting with internal and external communications related to Deposits, ensuring consistency and clarity.
  • Providing support to other members of the Deposits team to achieve shared goals.
  • Ensuring all product initiatives comply with ANZ’s Global Product Management Policy and align with strategic objectives.
  • Embedding effective non-financial risk management practices in daily activities and decision-making.

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels, including frontline teams and senior leadership.
  • Proven experience in the Banking and Financial Services industry, with deep knowledge of Deposits products and related processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of deliverables and manage end-to-end delivery plans for key initiatives.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive results and deliver shared objectives.
  • Solid background in product management, supported by knowledge of change management, project management, and risk management practices.
  • Highly motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured approach to decision-making, planning, and prioritisation.
