Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Procurement Excellence Specialist within ANZ’s Procurement function, you’ll play a key role in driving process standardisation, procurement system & performance improvement, and champion capability development across the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.
The role reports into our Procurement Operations & Excellence Lead – New Zealand.
You’ll lead the development and implementation of procurement excellence initiatives that align New Zealand’s practices with global standards while ensuring local regulatory and policy compliance. As part of our global operating model for procurement you will play a key role in partnering with teams across the region to deliver change and improvement initiatives focused on realising best-in-class processes, enhanced user experience to deliver efficiency, consistency, and value for ANZ and for our partners.

The Procurement Excellence Specialist is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:
- Drive the rollout and adoption of procurement policies, standards, and tools across the NZ business
- Ensure compliance with BS11 obligations and regulatory requirements, maintaining strong controls and risk visibility
- Identify and implement process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, compliance, and user experience
- Monitor procurement performance metrics and deliver accurate reporting for local and group dashboards
- Collaborate with category managers and operational teams to embed best practices and support sourcing and contract management
- Lead capability-building initiatives, champion digital transformation, and act as a change agent for the procurement function.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Experience in process improvement, policy implementation, and procurement transformation initiatives
- Proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP Ariba and ability to support digital tool adoption
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, including sourcing, contracting, and supplier management
- Proven ability to lead requirements gathering and building case for change
- Experience with project and change management in a large organisation.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, monitor KPIs, and deliver performance reporting
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to influence and collaborate across all levels
- Understanding of procurement regulations, compliance standards, within the financial services sector or regulated industry.
