Mō te tūranga - About the role
As Manager, Compliance & Conduct Risk, you’ll support the effective management of conduct and compliance risks within ANZ’s First Line of Defence. Working within the Compliance & Conduct Risk Centre of Expertise, you’ll partner with business teams to support risk assessments, embed effetive risk controls, and contribute to regulatory and policy change activities across end‑to‑end value chains.
You’ll help provide practical risk insight, support adherence to risk and compliance frameworks, and assist in identifying control gaps where improvements are required. Acting as a trusted first line risk partner, you’ll contribute to high‑quality risk management and assurance outcomes while building your capability and supporting a strong compliance and conduct risk culture.

As Manager, Compliance & Conduct Risk, you will be:
- Supporting conduct and compliance risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end‑to‑end value chains
- Assisting business teams to design, uplift and embed sustainable conduct and compliance risk controls aligned to regulatory and enterprise needs
- Coordinating and supporting regulatory and policy change activities, including impact assessments and implementation support
- Reviewing control design and effectiveness, identifying gaps and supporting risk‑based improvements
- Preparing risk analysis, insights and materials for governance, decision-making and assurance activities
- Supporting the consolidation of risk themes, insights and emerging issues
- Assisting with indicators, analytics and reporting to monitor risk and control effectiveness
- Acting as a trusted first line risk partner, strengthening ownership and accountability for conduct and compliance risk
- Contributing to compliance and conduct capability uplift across the business
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Foundational knowledge of conduct and compliance risk management frameworks and regulatory obligations
- Experience supporting risk assessments, control design and effectiveness reviews, issue management or assurance activities, ideally within financial services
- The ability to interpret risk and regulatory requirements and help translate them into clear, business and customer centric embedded solutions
- Well‑developed analytical skills, with the ability to identify risk themes, trends and emerging issues
- Developing stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with confidence working as a first line risk partner
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, including contributing to papers and materials for governance and decision-making
- Strong judgement and a risk‑based mindset, with the ability to balance customer, business and regulatory outcomes.
- A willingness to learn, support and continuously build capability in financial crime and fraud risk management and a strong risk culture
