Mō te tūranga - About the role
As Manager, NFR Spoke – Business & Agri, you’ll play a key role in delivering and strengthening the effectiveness of first line non‑financial risk management within ANZ New Zealand’s Business & Agri business. You’ll support the business to identify, manage and monitor non‑financial risks across large change initiatives (e.g. Wholesale Lending Origination) providing introduced risk and control advisory expertise.
You’ll provide practical risk insight and advice, lead change risk assessments, event management and help embed strong risk management practices into business decision‑making. Acting as a trusted first line risk partner, you’ll help deliver specialist high‑quality risk management and assurance outcomes, build capability, and reinforce risk culture.

As Manager, NFR Spoke – Business & Agri, you will be:
- Supporting end‑to‑end non‑financial risk management, including risk identification and assessment, control design and effectiveness, governance and reporting
- Partnering with business teams to provide risk advice across strategic change, driving control uplift and ensuring sustainable solutions
- Leading and delivering proactive risk management, risk‑in‑change, event and issue management, including root cause analysis and lessons learned
- Preparing risk analysis, insights and thematic reporting to support governance forums and management decision‑making
- Reviewing control design and effectiveness, identifying gaps and supporting risk-based improvements, remediation planning and delivery
- Supporting regulatory and policy change impact assessments and oversight of implementation activities
- Working closely with the NFR Hub and Risk Theme COEs to provide business‑specific insights to support risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end‑to‑end value chains
- Coaching and developing team members while building risk capability across the business
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Strong knowledge of core non‑financial risk concepts, including risk assessment, control design and operating effectiveness, change risk assessment, event and issue management.
- Experience leading change risk assessment, event and issue management, including investigations and root cause analysis
- An understanding of regulatory obligations, licensing requirements and regulatory change management
- Well‑developed analytical skills, with the ability to identify risk themes, trends and emerging issues
- The ability to synthesise complex risk information into clear, decision‑ready insights
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, operating as a trusted first line risk partner
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, including preparing materials for governance and decision-making
- Strong planning and coordination skills to manage high volume demand in a changing environment
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement with experience coaching others, driving capability uplift and leading a strong risk culture
