Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

Our Security Operations squad plays a critical role in protecting the bank, our customers, and our systems from evolving cyber threats. You'll help safeguard customer data, identities, and finances while ensuring our technology remains secure, resilient, and available. You'll help defend against everything from phishing and ransomware to cloud-based attacks, supply chain compromises, and sophisticated threats posed by advanced adversaries.

 

 As a CSOC Analyst your key priorities include:

 

  • Responding to security incidents and coordinating a cohesive response involving multiple teams across ANZ.
  • Developing detections, automations, and response workflows that improve our ability to identify and respond to cyber threats.
  • Investigating security incidents across endpoints, networks, cloud platforms, and identity systems.
  • Providing root-cause analysis, remediation plans, and support during cyber security incidents.
  • Developing playbooks and solutions that improve incident response capabilities and reduce manual effort.
  • Evaluating and communicating the changing threat landscape to stakeholders, including emerging techniques targeting cloud, identity, and enterprise environments.
  • Supporting investigations involving modern attack techniques such as phishing, malware, ransomware, identity-based attacks, supply chain compromises, and denial-of-service activity.


 

Role Location: Auckland or Wellington

Role Type: Permanent, Fulltime

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, plus some contributions to a 24/7 on-call roster

As a Security Analyst it is expected that you will be the primary responder to security incidents and be able to coordinate a cohesive response involving multiple teams across ANZ. You'll help drive continuous improvements uplifting SOC in threat detection, investigation, and response capabilities through automation, threat hunting, security engineering, and intelligence-led defence, ensuring we remain resilient in the face of emerging cyber risks.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

  • Experience working in Security Operations, Incident Response, Threat Intelligence, Detection Engineering, Threat Hunting or a related cyber security discipline.
  • Understanding of best practices in network security, security operations, systems security, incident response, and cyber defence.
  • Deep technical understanding of application security, OS internals, infrastructure security, digital forensics, malware analysis, cloud security, identity security, or some combination.
  • Understanding of security vulnerabilities, attacker techniques, tactics, procedures (TTPs), and methods for their detection and remediation.
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • A desire to continuously learn new techniques and technologies and bring innovative ideas into the squad.
  • The ability to contribute to the creation and maintenance of inclusive workplace culture.
