Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Quality Engineer in our Systematics team, you will help us deliver a stable, secure, and high-quality core banking experience for both our internal and external users. The role is focused on ensuring the reliability and integrity of our platforms by applying strong testing practices and quality engineering approaches, supporting customer-facing applications such as Internet Banking and goMoney to deliver a trusted and resilient banking experience.

This role is accountable for:
- Working with product owners, business analysts, and engineers to translate business requirements into effective test scenarios and quality outcomes;
- Applying testing standards and best practices across both functional and non-functional testing;
- Contributing to improving test coverage, including uplifting test automation where appropriate;
- Supporting the stability of core banking platforms through effective regression, release, and change testing;
- Identifying, assessing, and communicating quality risks to ensure safe and reliable delivery;
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of testing practices, tools, frameworks, and methodologies;
- Fostering a collaborative team environment and sharing knowledge to build a strong quality culture
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Proven experience in software testing within enterprise or complex technology environments.
- Strong understanding and practical application of functional and non-functional testing principles.
- Hands-on experience across both manual and automated testing approaches.
- Experience with test automation tools and frameworks (e.g. Cypress, Jenkins, Bitbucket or similar).
- Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Groovy or similar).
- Experience with API testing using tools such as Postman, REST Assured or similar.
- Experience working in Agile delivery environments (e.g. Scrum or Kanban).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess quality risks.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to work across engineers, business analysts, and stakeholders.
- Ability to take ownership of quality outcomes and contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices.
