This is a rare opportunity to step into Funds Technology, working on platforms that underpin ANZ’s investment and asset management services.

 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll take a leading role in shaping and delivering technology that supports our Discretionary Investment Management Services (DIMS) and advisory channels. You won’t just be maintaining systems, you’ll be influencing how they evolve, partnering closely with engineers, architects, and vendors to design and deliver solutions that are robust, scalable and fit for the future.

Work Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with some contributions to a 24/7 roster

You’ll work across design, delivery and support to ensure Funds platforms are reliable, scalable and continually improving. This includes:

 

  • Enhancing solutions to align with evolving business and technical requirements, collaborating closely with engineers, architects, and vendor partners
  • Leading technical decisions and improving platform performance, resilience and scalability
  • Supporting production systems and resolving complex issues, including contributing to out of hours support when required
  • Embedding strong engineering practices, with a focus on risk management, controls and quality standards in a regulated environment
  • Contributing to technical governance, documentation and continuous improvement, while mentoring others and lifting team capability

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

 

  •  A strong engineering foundation along with the confidence to work across design, delivery and support.
  • Confidence working with a range of stakeholders, including vendor partners
  • Solid understanding of system design, troubleshooting and production support
  • Strong experience in software engineering, ideally with Java (Spring Boot) or .NET
  • Experience building and supporting web or microservices-based applications
  • Familiarity with modern engineering practices such as CI/CD and source control (for example Git)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, containers or Kubernetes, scripting or automation (PowerShell, Python or similar)
  • Experience with SQL or relational databases
  • An understanding of infrastructure, networking or security concepts
  • Any frontend experience (for example React)
