Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Senior Systems Engineer - Storage in our Technology Operations Tribe, you’ll play a key role in providing a technical storage to support and administration to maintain the Bank's Operational infrastructure for the Storage SAN and NAS environments, thereby ensuring IAAS operationally meets its Business Service Delivery targets and maintains stability and availability of all services managed within the Platform environment.

Role Location: Auckland

Role Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, with 24/7 on-call duties.

The Senior Systems Storage position is a key role within our Technology Operations Trible and has a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:

 

  • Taking part in any NZ-impacting priority incidents that occur including incident detection, resolution and reporting
  • Performing change activity of systems administration and storage configuration, including software installation, system and appliance builds, software package testing etc
  • Attending meetings related to Vendor management
  • Performing risk and compliance tasks related to the management of the storage fleet
  • Ensuring that Confluence pages and guides are in place and current
  • Performing storage lifecycle and patch management upgrades

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Strong experience in SAN and NAS storage systems
  • Ability to manage a variety of people in pressure situations
  • Solid automation skills – e.g. Ansible
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • A wide understanding of technology hardware, software and applications 
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-directed
  • Have excellent oral, written and presentation skills with strong negotiation skills
  • Experience with incident management in a technology environment 
  • Experience with change management within a technology environment

 

Desirable experience:

  • Use of ServiceNow, xMatters, Teams, Confluence and Jira
  • Mainframe storage experience
  • Splunk experience
  • Process governance experience
