As a Senior Portfolio Manager in Retail Products, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering the portfolio priorities, success measures, and outcomes that enable our Retail Products strategy – that’s covering transactional and savings accounts, cards, term deposits and personal loans. You’ll work closely with the GM Retail Products and the Retail Products Leadership Team to manage and grow the portfolio end-to-end, with a strong focus on cross functional collaboration, coordination, and delivery excellence. You’ll also get the opportunity to look across many other parts of the bank, giving you broad understanding of how ANZ operates.

This role sits at the centre of the Retail Products ecosystem, providing strategic oversight, clarity, and momentum across initiatives to ensure we are delivering what matters most for our customers, our people, and the business. You will be right in the middle of the action for ANZ’s growth strategy and path to 2030.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? – What will your day look like
You’ll be responsible for providing portfolio level clarity, coordination, and leadership across Retail Products, ensuring priorities, success measures, and outcomes are aligned and delivered effectively. This role exists to bring together teams, initiatives, and perspectives into a clear, cohesive view that supports strong decision making and delivery.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Developing a deep understanding of priorities, success measures, and outcomes across the Retail Products portfolio, and creating, maintaining, and sharing a clear Retail Products roadmap
- Building and maintaining strong partnerships across the bank (including technology, customer engagement, marketing, and strategy) to support effective cross functional collaboration and delivery
- Working closely with key partner teams such as the Customer Proposition Business Unit and Strategy and Execution team to align priorities, create shared understanding, and deliver shared outcomes
- Representing a combined Retail Products view in key forums (including Strategy and Execution, Change, and Customer and Growth forums), and providing clear feedback to the leadership team
- Leading or supporting portfolio and cross functional initiatives as agreed with the GM Retail Products, from shaping direction through to delivery
- Supporting capability, performance, and ways of working across the Retail Products portfolio, including helping teams integrate work across product families and providing insight on priorities, metrics, and outcomes

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Strong strategic insight and portfolio thinking, with the ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail, and a genuine drive to improve Retail Products experiences for both customers and staff
- Proven experience in portfolio, programme, or complex initiative delivery, including taking ownership of outcomes, understanding execution at a practical level, and confidently engaging with technology delivery at a high level
- Excellent planning, problem solving, and prioritisation skills, supported by strong analytical capability and the ability to translate data into clear, actionable insights
- Outstanding communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills, with a track record of building trust, influencing key stakeholders, and constructively challenging the way work is done to achieve better outcomes
- Highly organised and resilient, with a structured approach to managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, cross‑functional environment
- An inclusive, growth oriented mindset, with the ability to engage and empower a diverse range of people and adapt your leadership and collaboration style in line with ANZ’s ambition to be an equal outcomes organisation
