Ko Mātou – About Us

Kia Hanga I Te Ao, E Ora Ai, E Tupu Ai, Te Tangata Me Te Kainga. At ANZ, we’re shaping a world where people and communities thrive, driven by a common goal: to improve the financial wellbeing and sustainability of our millions of customers.

Mō te tūranga - About the role

We’re looking for a detail-focused, forward-thinking professional to join our Product team at ANZ Investments. This is more than just a legal or compliance role — it’s a chance to contribute meaningfully to how we communicate with our investors, support our responsible investment strategy, and help shape our response to climate-related disclosure obligations.

You’ll be a key part of the team responsible for managing and preparing legal disclosure documents for our managed funds and discretionary investment management services. This includes coordinating across teams to ensure documents are accurate, timely and meet all legal requirements — while also making space for innovation and positive change.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and supporting the preparation and management of formal disclosure documents
  • Coordinating with legal, compliance, product, and marketing teams to deliver on time
  • Supporting implementation of our Responsible Investment strategy, including climate-related goals
  • Driving the execution of climate-related disclosure requirements across ANZ New Zealand Investments
  • Supporting change initiatives and improvements in product governance and compliance processes
  • Facilitating governance meetings and ensuring process adherence with regulatory standards

This is a role with purpose and scope — ideal for someone who wants to combine legal expertise with future-focused impact.

Role Location: Auckland

Role Type: Permanent, Fulltime

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like

No two days will be the same — and that’s part of what makes this role exciting. You'll have the opportunity to work across teams, apply your legal and compliance skills, and be part of a business that’s evolving with purpose.

Your typical week might include:

  • Drafting and refining disclosure documents, including climate statements
  • Working closely with specialists, executives and stakeholders to get documents approved
  • Contributing to the implementation of our Responsible Investment and climate strategies
  • Offering expert support to other teams across Funds Management
  • Playing a hands-on role in business change initiatives that impact disclosures
  • Spotting opportunities for improvements and helping streamline our processes

You’ll work in an environment that values accuracy, collaboration, and forward-thinking — and where your expertise will be respected and relied on.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

We’re looking for someone who combines deep legal knowledge with a collaborative, improvement-focused mindset.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need to bring:

  • At least 7 years’ legal experience, ideally within financial services or funds management
  • Strong understanding of FMCA licensing and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent drafting and document management skills, with a sharp eye for detail
  • A proactive approach to learning and applying complex regulation
  • Ability to build strong, open working relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Organisational confidence – able to manage deadlines, priorities and projects effectively
  • A growth mindset – ready to embrace change and help shape better outcomes

It's a plus if you also have:

  • Experience with climate-related disclosure obligations and preparing climate statements
  • A background in risk management, compliance or assurance

Qualifications:

You’ll likely have a relevant degree in law and experience within financial services, a regulatory body, or a legal practice group focused on funds management or financial services.
