Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Senior Investment Analyst in our Asset Allocation team, you’ll play a key role in supporting the management of ANZ’s multi-asset funds and model portfolios through research, modelling, and strategic analysis. You’ll help shape asset allocation decisions and risk budgeting process that influence over NZ$30 billion in diversified portfolios - including KiwiSaver, Managed Investment Funds, and Private Bank Model Portfolios.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

 

You’ll be driving analytical research and modelling to support strategic and tactical asset allocation decisions across ANZ’s diversified investment portfolios. This role exists to ensure our portfolio strategies are robust, responsive to market dynamics, and aligned with customer needs and board preferences.

 

  • Use behavioural, economic, and valuation insights to inform tactical positioning.
  • Lead research and reviews of asset classes and strategies to inform portfolio construction decisions, recommending portfolio weightings based on expected return and risk metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and strategic partners like BlackRock to execute asset allocation decisions and maintain high-quality investment processes.
  • Prepare and deliver insights to stakeholders including the board, product teams, and Private Bank clients, supporting financial literacy and fund growth.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Deep investment management experience, with a strong foundation in portfolio strategy and multi-asset investing.
  • Proven expertise in asset allocation, including strategic and tactical positioning, risk budgeting, and capital market assumptions.
  • Advanced modelling and analytical skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel and statistical techniques.
  • Familiarity with Python and Bloomberg, with the ability to apply tools to support investment decision-making.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in finance, economics, or a related discipline; postgraduate study and/or CFA designation highly regarded.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to translate complex investment insights into clear recommendations.
