Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Senior Business Analyst in ANZ’s Delivery & Change Centre of Excellence, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting a portfolio of strategic, high-impact initiatives across the bank.

 

You will apply your in-depth experience of business analysis skills and techniques to analyse and synthesise information to understand the organisational context and complete business analysis activities to elicit, document manage and communicate requirements throughout the project or programme end to end.

 

You will be used to working with stakeholders at all levels and areas of the organisation and be able to effectively communicate to ensure a clear understanding of the projects or programme’s objectives and benefits.

 

Role Location: Auckland or Wellington

Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

Hours: 37.5 hours

The Senior Business Analyst position is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities may include the below:

 

  • Analysing, interpreting and translating business requirements into clear and actionable deliverables.
  • Assessing technology impacts and ensure solutions align with business objectives and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating closely with Technology and Business stakeholders to support solution design and data-related decision making.
  • Identifying risks, anticipating compliance impacts, and contributing to strengthened controls across initiatives.
  • Providing support to other Business Analysts and contributing to the professional development and success of the broader team.
  • Displaying a positive attitude, operating collaboratively and actively supporting others.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • Extensive experience as a Business Analyst working at a senior level including substantial exposure to financial services compliance, risk management, or regulatory environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in working across a broad range of initiatives, from smaller scale projects to complex transformation programmes, including contact centre environments.
  • A solid understanding of project lifecycles, disciplines and procedures, with hands-on experience in Agile and Hybrid delivery environments.
  • Strong detailed knowledge of business analysis tasks, elicitation techniques, documenting, presenting and managing requirements with different stakeholders across business and technology teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to influence stakeholders and facilitate effective discussions.
  • Demonstrated success building effective relationships and collaborating across multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • An ability to appreciate difficult problems and work autonomously on tasks with a high complexity, work collaboratively as part of a team and able to clearly represent consolidated findings.
  • Positive can-do attitude with a growth mindset a must!
  • A proactive nature with a focus on continuous improvement, efficiency, and high‑quality delivery.
