Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Senior Analyst in our Merchant MIS team (under Product COE), you will work in the Merchant Business Data team to advance strategic initiatives that support regulatory reporting obligations, optimize merchant pricing models and deliver meaningful business insights. You will also be responsible for maintaining the SQL Server and overseeing its daily operations, conducting business analysis, gathering requirements, and leveraging business intelligence tools to contribute to the broader success of Merchant Business Solutions.

This role is accountable for:

  • Reviewing, implementing and testing regulatory and scheme compliance changes relating to merchant pricing
  • Providing data and insights to support regulatory engagement and internal stakeholders
  • Owning and running our SQL databases to provide regular reporting relating to the Merchant Business
  • Supporting the business with data and insights to assist them with making data driven decisions
  • Creating efficiencies and time saving across the business through automation
  • Generating analysis and relevant customer insights, costs, benefits, and risks for business
  • Managing risk proactively by following strong data development principles

 

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

To thrive and excel in this role, you should ideally possess the following:

  • Strong SQL experience (SSMS); SSIS/SSRS/SSAS preferred
  • Advanced SQL for business rules and pricing logic
  • Proficient in Excel and MS Office
  • Experience with Teradata or SAS (nice to have)
  • Experience with Merchants Acquiring products, Interchange and Payment Systems, scheme compliance is a plus
  • End to end reporting delivery experience
  • Data visualization using Tableau or Power BI
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills
  • Detail‑oriented with a proactive learning mindset
