Mō te tūranga - About the role

The Private Banker is critical to making this happen and key responsibilities of the role will include the following:

  • Be responsible for the management, growth and retention of a set of Private Bank clients with a particular focus on investment management and advice.
  • Build a thorough understanding of each client’s financial requirements and understand your clients’ needs and risk profile to ensure positive customer outcomes
  • Develop new business through your own personal network, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues to following up on referrals and developing existing client relationships
  • Ensure Private Bank clients receive advice and service to the highest level
  • Build a professional profile within your community
  • Provide coaching & guidance to Associates, helping to create a supportive, creative and achievement oriented work environment for the team
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders and colleagues to ensure your client’s service experience is consistent across the bank
  • Reporting to a Senior Private Banker and supported by an Associate Private banker who are based in Auckland, you will join a supportive team environment

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

As a Financial Planner, you will:

• Build the ANZFP business by developing productive relationships with customers and proactively offer advice, products, and services to meet their needs.   
• Develop and implement a marketing / sales strategy to promote ANZ products and to increase and retain funds under management (FUM).
• Provide total client relationship management, including recommendation and introduction of other ANZ professional services      
• Generate new and maintain existing client relationships and provide quality, holistic, and well-thought-out advice to clients, and identify any cross-sell opportunities to our referral partners
• Apply business knowledge and wealth creation strategies to help meet customers' financial goals, calling in specialists where required
• Contribute to the Business Unit's Profit and Loss, Sales Revenue and FUM growth targets
• Ensure all advice adheres to ANZ policies and procedures for Practicing Certificate Holders and legislative and regulatory frameworks
• Maintain current market, CPD, legislative and industry knowledge.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Proven track record of experience working with investment clients to deliver investment portfolio solutions and advice, focussed primarily globally diversified asset classes such as shares, bonds, property and infrastructure.
  • Minimum Qualification requirement: Financial Advisers Regime –New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) (Investment), or, other approved relevant qualification is required for this role
  • Previous experience in banking with in-depth knowledge of financial markets is preferred.
  • Excellent Relationship management & sales experience
  • Advanced communication, presentation & networking skills
