Mō te tūranga - About the role
The Marketing Specialist role is responsible for implementing initiatives that support the segment marketing strategy from within the Brand & Advertising discipline.
It includes working with Marketing Managers to deliver campaigns and activity within a squad, primarily using owned and paid advertising channels, including digital media and website content.
This role will create positive customer outcomes by ensuring the propositions, initiatives and campaigns that are delivered enhance our customer’s financial wellbeing.
Some of your other responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring marketing strategies and initiatives are implemented efficiently and effectively, meeting defined objectives, and delivered to the agreed methodology for the brand and advertising discipline.
- Supporting other team members to deliver effective marketing activity across owned and paid media.
- Ongoing management and monitoring of marketing activity to optimise, report back, and ensure alignment to evolving business needs.
- Ensuring campaigns meet customer needs, are communicated compellingly, and demonstrate a strong use of customer insight.
- High quality output – support the delivery of compelling creative and well managed initiatives that deliver results.
- Establishing and maintaining positive collaborative working relationships across marketing and other stakeholders.

Role Type: 12-month Secondment/Fixed Term Contract.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 1 -3 years’ marketing or customer communications experience.
- Demonstrated generalist marketing skills with the ability to implement a broad range of marketing activities.
- Creative nous – demonstrated understanding of brand building and creative excellence.
- Brand and advertising skills, including creative development and some understanding of media planning.
- Understanding of digital marketing across digital AV, programmatic, SEO, SEM and website content and design.
- Excellent attention to detail, and a desire to produce work of a high quality.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload and capacity to deliver agreed tasks on time.
- Inquisitive mindset and an understanding of how to identify and use insights effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
- Sound judgement, strong problem solving and analytical and numerical skills.
- Eagerness to learn and develop your marketing skills.
