Mō te tūranga - About the role

 

As a Marketing Specialist within the Brand and Advertising team, you will play a critical role in executing content initiatives that support the delivery of segment marketing strategies. This includes contributing to the BAU content program and working on content elements of bigger campaigns with Senior/Marketing Managers.  Its all about having an in depth knowledge of what works from a storytelling point of view in different platforms, from social to web, to eDM, to podcasts. You will help drive the content program forward by staying across production, platform, and media developments, ensuring we create content that resonates with our target audiences in the channels where they are most engaged.

This role is accountable for:

  • Supporting the delivery and ongoing management of content marketing strategies and communication initiatives.
  • Ensuring content projects are developed efficiently and effectively, meet defined objectives, and are delivered in line with the agreed methodology for the Brand and Advertising discipline.
  • Driving production effectiveness by implementing cost‑effective and innovative production models across a range of media.
  • Managing and monitoring ongoing content activity to optimise performance, provide reporting, and ensure alignment with evolving business needs.
  • Delivering high‑quality output through compelling creative and well‑managed campaigns and programs that achieve results.
  • Supporting continuous improvement by applying a ‘measure‑what‑matters’ mindset and sound test‑and‑learn methodologies to optimise content performance.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive, collaborative working relationships across the Marketing COE and other business stakeholders.
  • Ensuring all financial, reputational, and operational risks are effectively identified and managed.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Marketing experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritise workload, and deliver agreed tasks on time.
  • Strong content development skills, including experience with in‑channel tools. Know what great content looks like and how it looks different on different channels.
  • Solid knowledge of digital platforms
  • Experience of filming and editing content is not required but would be helpful
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively manage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Sound judgement, strong problem‑solving capabilities, and well‑developed analytical and numerical skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high‑quality work.
  • Industry expertise—an understanding of core banking market dynamics and customer insights is advantageous.
  • Regulatory and compliance knowledge of the banking sector is beneficial.
  • Media agency management and media planning experience are an advantage.
