Mō te tūranga - About the role

As Manager, NFR Spoke – Personal, you’ll play a key role in delivering and strengthening the effectiveness of first line non‑financial risk management within ANZ NZ Personal business. You’ll support the business to identify, manage and monitor non‑financial risks across day‑to‑day operations.

You’ll provide practical risk insight and advice, support event management and change risk assessments and help embed strong risk management practices into business decision‑making. Acting as a trusted first line risk partner, you’ll help deliver specialist high‑quality risk management and assurance outcomes, build capability, and reinforce risk culture.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

As a Manager, NFR Spoke – Personal, you will be:

• Supporting end‑to‑end non‑financial risk management, including risk identification, control effectiveness, governance and reporting
• Partnering with business teams to provide risk advice across business‑as‑usual activities, projects and change initiatives
• Support risk‑in‑change, event and issue management, including root cause analysis and lessons learned
• Supporting top‑down and bottom‑up risk identification across the Personal NZ business
• Preparing risk analysis, insights and thematic reporting to support governance forums and management decision‑making
• Reviewing control design and effectiveness, identifying gaps and supporting risk-based improvements, remediation planning and delivery
• Working closely with the NFR Hub and Risk Theme COEs to provide business‑specific insights to support risk assessments across business processes, systems, data and end‑to‑end value chains
• Contributing to NFR capability uplift across the business

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you’ll bring:

• Foundational knowledge of core non‑financial risk concepts, including risk assessment, control design and operating effectiveness, change assessment, event and issue management.
• Experience supporting change risk assessment, event and issue management, including investigations and root cause analysis
• An understanding of regulatory obligations, licensing requirements and regulatory change management
• Well‑developed analytical skills, with the ability to identify risk themes, trends and emerging issues
• The ability to synthesise complex risk information into clear, decision‑ready insights
• Developing stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with confidence working as a first line risk partner
• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including contributing to papers and materials for governance and decision making
• Strong judgement and a risk‑based mindset, with the ability to balance customer, business and regulatory outcomes.
• A willingness to learn, support and continuously build capability in financial crime and fraud risk management and a strong risk culture
