Mō te tūranga - About the role
As a Senior Responsible Investment Analyst in our Investment Management, Responsible Investment team, you’ll play a key role designing and delivering the Responsible Investment Framework (Framework) we apply to our KiwiSaver and other funds.
This role is responsible for ensuring the Framework is suitable for ANZI’s portfolio and investment approach, and consistent with our investment beliefs and voluntary and mandatory responsible investment requirements. You will lead our stewardship programme and collaborate with other investment management teams and our external investment partners to appropriately integrate the Framework across our portfolio construction value chain.
You will collaborate across the wider Funds Management business unit to ensure our Responsible Investment-related disclosure, including client communications and published reporting on stewardship and how we manage the risk and opportunities of climate change, is fit for purpose and adds value to ANZI investors.

As a Responsible Investment Manager, you will:
- Contribute to ANZI investment strategy through:
- sensible, impactful integration of the RI framework including measurement, evaluation and reporting
- design, delivery and continuous improvement of the RI framework, associated policies and processes
- Acting as a Responsible Investment Subject Matter Expert
- Lead Stewardship activity in conjunction with the Analyst. Responsible Investment; internal Investment Management teams (e.g. in Australasian equities and fixed income) and with external investment partners.
- Have oversight of ANZI’s RI-related data and information requirements and how they are met by data providers, commitments, memberships and otherwise
- Build awareness of key risks in the internal and external operating environment, including Non-Financial Risk, and understand how ANZI’s risk framework, policies and processes enable the team to manage risk well
- Support the Performance and Risk team and others to deliver timely and accurate Responsible Investment-related reporting, modelling and other data related activities.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- 5+ years’ practical experience integrating Responsible Investment and climate strategy, including public reporting, across a range of asset classes and investment styles (active, passive, systematic, fundamental, public and private).
- Solid experience leading stewardship activities – direct, collaborative, and through external managers.
- An interest in, or exposure to, banking & finance, financial markets and/or funds management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear insights.
- Strong ability to build collaborative working relationships across diverse stakeholders.
- The capability to influence effectively, think on your feet and bring a sense of mana to your work and interactions.
- A self-starter mindset with the ability to operate independently, demonstrate initiative, and maintain a growth mindset.
- Confidence to both take and give constructive challenge to support high-quality decision-making.
