Mō te tūranga - About the role
As the Head of Fixed Income & Cash within ANZ’s Investment Management team, you will be responsible for driving strong investment outcomes and managing risk across income assets. Your leadership will be instrumental in enhancing risk-adjusted returns through a total portfolio approach, while ensuring alignment with our strategic growth objectives and regulatory commitment to delivering good customer outcomes. You’ll oversee the implementation of Fixed Income and Cash exposures, both internally and externally managed. In addition, you will contribute as a senior member of the Investment Management Leadership Team, championing investment excellence and innovation.

As the Head of Fixed Income & Cash, your day will be dynamic and purpose-driven, with opportunities to:
- Deliver investment performance that consistently exceeds benchmarks and peer group results, ensuring risk-adjusted returns are achieved net of fees.
- Provide strategic investment insights that influence portfolio decisions across internal teams and actively contribute to high-quality Investment Committee discussions.
- Strengthen our customer-focused investment approach by engaging with stakeholders and advisor networks, ensuring our strategies reflect evolving customer needs and expectations.
- Lead and develop a high-performing Fixed Income team, ensuring timely recruitment, ongoing professional development, and a collaborative, high-engagement culture.
- Proactively manage investment and operational risks, ensuring full compliance with ANZ policies and regulatory obligations, and achieving strong outcomes in internal audits.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Broad investment management experience across fixed income and cash assets, with a strong understanding of portfolio construction, credit and duration risk, and delivering risk-adjusted returns.
- Advanced quantitative and analytical skills, including financial modelling and statistical analysis to support investment decision-making.
- Proven ability to communicate complex investment concepts clearly and confidently to a range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership and advisor networks.
- A track record of building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development.
- Deep expertise in risk management and regulatory compliance, with a strong grasp of relevant frameworks and a commitment to maintaining high standards of professional conduct.
