As a Director in ANZ’s Institutional Loans & Markets Execution team, you will play a key role in the structuring, negotiation and execution of complex lending and capital markets transactions for Institutional customers. Partnering closely with Relationship Banking, Corporate Finance, Loan Syndications & Agency, Leveraged and Acquisition Finance, Debt Capital Markets and Markets teams, you will help deliver high‑quality transaction outcomes with strong commercial and risk discipline. This is a hands‑on execution role offering significant exposure to complex deals, senior stakeholders and ANZ’s most important clients.

The LME Director position is a dynamic and impactful role with a broad range of responsibilities. Some of your day-to-day activities will include the below:
- Supporting the delivery of complex lending and markets transactions, contributing to execution quality, prioritisation and workflow across the team.
- Managing multiple transaction processes end‑to‑end, working with external counsel and internal specialists to review, negotiate and finalise documentation.
- Partnering with Loan Syndications & Agency, Debt Capital Markets, Markets and Legal teams to review financing and derivatives documentation for Institutional clients.
- Collaborating closely with Relationship Banking, Credit and Leveraged and Acquisition Finance teams to help structure solutions aligned to customer needs and approvals.
- Engaging with customers and deal teams on live transactions, gaining exposure across the full deal lifecycle.
- Contributing to initiatives that improve execution efficiency, simplify processes and enhance the overall customer experience.
Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Current or previous practising lawyer, with substantial post‑qualification experience providing legal advice across complex transactions and matters.
- Emerging people leadership capability, with experience coaching others and contributing positively to team performance.
- Solid technical, transaction execution and negotiation skills, with the ability to apply sound judgement across complex deals.
- Strong commercial awareness, enabling you to understand risk, structure transactions and support decision‑making in fast‑moving environments.
- A good working knowledge of institutional finance markets, including lending, syndications, project finance, leveraged finance, agency and related activity.
- Deep exposure to capital markets and/or derivatives documentation, with experience supporting DCM or Markets transactions.
- Well‑developed relationship skills, with the confidence to work effectively with customers, internal stakeholders and external advisers.
