Environmental sustainability is one of the three key priorities underpinning our purpose – to shape a world where people and communities thrive. Our purpose puts sustainability at the heart of everything we do – how we do business, the customers we bank, how we treat our people, our customers, shareholders, regulators and the communities in which we operate.



We commenced building our global Sustainable Finance (SusFin) business in 2015. Today, we are the largest Sustainable Finance team of the Australian and New Zealand banks, comprised of ~30 people in Auckland, Wellington, Sydney, Melbourne Singapore, Hong Kong and London with experience across coverage, corporate finance and debt capital markets as well as technical sustainability capability.

Ka aha tō rā e kite ai? - What will your day look like?

 

In this role, you will be a senior member of our SusFin team and actively build our ongoing business development strategy and market profile. It's an exciting time to join us as we cement ourselves as market leaders in the Asia-Pacific region.

 

In a typical day or week, your work will involve the following:

 

  • Leading origination opportunities with our client base
  • Deepening relationships with ESG-focused investors
  • Actively participating in market forums and industry bodies to ensure the ongoing development of market standards
  • Role-modelling leadership by setting the right examples for team members according to ANZ values and behaviours with a focus on ESG knowledge sharing and capacity building, both internally and externally

 

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

 

Entrepreneurial thinker and stretcher of what's possible, you're a seasoned finance professional with seriously strong credentials in origination/execution across corporate finance, coverage banking, capital markets, corporate treasury, asset management or similar.

 

  • Broad and deep product knowledge across loans, bonds, derivatives, trade finance and other financial products whether through product or coverage roles
  • Sustainable finance, origination and transaction execution across multiple products and sectors is advantageous
  • Experience in building capability internally and externally, with a focus on the best outcomes for customers and development of the sustainable finance markets more broadly
  • An original thinker, you've probably spent time public speaking, attending forums and developing ideas with others
  • Strong commercial acumen, critical thinking and flexibility for rapid problem solving and decision making
  • The team is highly engaged, ambitious and ready to learn, you'll demonstrate how you are going to build on their knowledge and skills
