About the Role
As the Head of Commercial, Samoa, you are responsible for the growth and profitability of the Samoan commercial operations, including business banking. You are responsible for leading and developing a team of people and building revenue through active account management, client acquisition, cross sell and sales activities aligned with the Global and Pacific Commercial strategy.
You are also responsible for the following:
- Increase overall revenue and profitability of the business and meet agreed financial targets and budgets
- Develop the country strategy in line with the broader Commercial/ANZ strategy. Clearly articulate plans to team and support them to develop action plans
- Drive strategic initiatives that have the potential for game changing impact on the business in terms of revenue growth and profitability
- Lead the execution and implementation of local business plans i.e., credit approval, sales, L&D, client service and product development
- Have a strong focus to uphold the bank’s Well Managed agenda.
- Maintain compliance with ANZ and Pacific credit and operational procedures

What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Extensive frontline banking experience
- Prior exposure to commercial banking products i.e., commercial lending, cash management, trade services, treasure/financial markets, asset-based financing, investment products
- Good understanding of the relevant market, business, political, social and economic trends and challenges of the country/region in which they operate
- Prior experience in leading and directing a large team of employees with an understanding of different cultural backgrounds
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills and an ability to perform under pressure
- Strong focus on continuous improvement with an eye for detail
- Tertiary degree in a business or banking related field
- Demonstrated success in managing a fast-growing business in an emerging market
