About the Role
As an Assistant Recoveries Manager in our Asset Management Unit (AMU) - Samoa, you’ll play a key role in assisting the Recoveries Manager with the day-to-day portfolio management of Retail and Commercial High Risk Customer Connections that are managed by the Asset Management Unit.
This is achieved through the implemenation of effective collection strategies designed to maximise recoveries and minimise losses for the bank whilst working with external business partners to achieve a result.
- Monitor and action daily reporting requirements to remain well managed, including excess and dishonour reports to reduce the Banks’ exposure.
- Monitor and track the annual review and milestone tracker for the portfolios and ensuring that these are updated immediately once approvals are held.
- Provide assistance to the Securities Officer in her absence with the management of securities.

What will your day look like?
As an Assistant Recoveries Manager - AMU, the role is accountable for but not limited to:

Assist Recoveries Manager with developing strategies for CCR 8-10 accounts to maximise recovery and minimise loss for the bank.

Preparation of Problem Credit Memorandum Review Reports [PCMRs] and provide recommendations where necessary and ensure milestones are achieved

Build customer relationships and gain knowledge and understanding of customer’s situation through listening carefully and questioning to identify potential needs.

Negotiate effective repayment programmes with Customers who are in financial difficulty to limit losses to the Bank.

Ensure clear and concise Diary Notes are prepared/maintained in customer records.

Ensure that work is of high quality and accuracy to avoid errors.

Adhere to Pacific "well managed" principles with respect to file strategies, CAD Discretion, timely completion of reviews, timely submission of returns, adequate assessment of risks for impacted files.

Understanding of ANZ Samoa’s standards, compliance and procedures and credit management policy and procedures. Understanding of the Samoa legal system in respect to debt recovery process.

Effective time management and interpersonal skills.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

Good negotiation skills and ability to identify potential problematic accounts.

Demonstrates initiatives and works with minimum supervision.

Proven ability to work in a fast paced and focused team environment with challenging targets.
