About the Role
The Director, PCM Sales, Public Sector role is critical to achieving this purpose and will be responsible for leading ANZ’s Institutional Transaction Banking relationship across the South Australian Public Sector.
This role will act as the primary Transaction Banking representative for the sector and will be responsible for developing and executing strategic relationship plans, growing ANZ’s share of wallet, identifying new opportunities, delivering exceptional client outcomes and ensuring ANZ remains a trusted partner to Public Sector stakeholders.
The role requires a highly strategic, externally focused individual who can build long-term relationships with senior decision makers while coordinating ANZ’s product, implementation, operational, risk and relationship teams to deliver positive client and community outcomes.

Role Type: Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week)
What will your day look like?
This role is accountable for:
- Acting as ANZ’s primary Transaction Banking representative for the Public Sector, building and maintaining strong relationships with key Government stakeholders and agencies.
- Developing and executing strategic engagement plans, including senior leadership involvement, to strengthen ANZ’s position within the government sector.
- Identifying, originating, and converting new Transaction Banking opportunities across payments, cash management, liquidity, deposits, digital channels, and emerging solutions.
- Driving portfolio growth by increasing wallet share, supporting government tenders and procurement processes, and delivering risk-adjusted returns.
- Leading cross-functional teams to provide exceptional client outcomes, proactively resolve issues, and improving the overall government client experience.
- Serving as a Transaction Banking subject matter expert, providing insights on government priorities, policy developments, industry trends, and innovation opportunities.
- Ensuring strong risk, governance, and compliance practices by adhering to ANZ policies, regulatory requirements, and government procurement standards.
- Managing portfolio performance by executing account plans, achieving revenue and growth targets, maintaining accurate forecasting, and tracking progress against strategic objectives.
What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:
- Significant experience in Transaction Banking, Corporate Banking, Institutional Banking or Government Banking.
- Strong understanding of the Public Sector landscape and procurement environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior executives and government stakeholders.
- Proven business development and strategic sales capability.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience managing complex client portfolios.
- Deep understanding of payments, cash management, deposits and treasury-related solutions.
- Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills across large, matrixed organisations.
- Strong risk management and governance capability.
- Exceptional communication, presentation and executive engagement skills.
- Ability to navigate complex decision-making environments and manage multiple stakeholders with competing priorities.
- High levels of resilience, adaptability and ownership.
