ANZ cares about your privacy and is committed to handling your personal information in a transparent, secure and lawful way. If your application is successful and you join the ANZ team, ANZ’s Employee Information Management Policy and Privacy Statement – Aotearoa New Zealand will also apply to how ANZ collects, uses and shares your personal information. We will provide you with a copy of that policy when you join ANZ. If you would like to request a copy before accepting a role, please let us know and we will provide this to you.

5. Sharing your personal information
We will only use or share your personal information:
- for the purposes set out in section 4 above, or a related purpose which might reasonably be expected;

Where your personal information is shared with non-ANZ entities, we will seek to ensure that the information is held, used or disclosed consistently with the applicable privacy laws and codes.

This may include disclosure to ANZ group entities, recruitment agencies, consulting agencies, service providers, screening providers, referees, current or former employers, professional service providers, and other third parties who assist ANZ with those processes.
We may need to share your information with overseas organisations. The most common reason for disclosure is because some of ANZ’s related entities are located overseas and are contracted to support operational teams on its behalf. We only disclose your information to these overseas related entities when it is necessary for the services they provide to ANZ. When this occurs, we ensure that we have a written contract in place, and that the agent cannot use the information for their own purposes. Services include but are not limited to:
- managing the application and applicant's interaction with ANZ;
- verifying an applicant’s background and/or qualification based on information supplied; and
- assessing an applicant’s competency and/or interviewing an applicant.
These overseas related entities are in the following countries:
- Australia
- The Philippines
- India
- Fiji
In addition, we may need to share personal information to a third party in any other country in which you have worked or lived. For example, if you previously lived in China, we may need to contact your former employer in China to verify relevant details about you.
The above is not a complete list of the countries to which your information may be shared when applying for a role. It may be necessary for us to share your information overseas and the countries to which we may disclose your information will depend on the circumstances but will still relate to the purpose of assessing your application. When doing so we will comply with applicable data privacy requirements and take appropriate safeguards to ensure the security and integrity of your personal information.
We may also use other external overseas service providers to help with our recruitment or candidate sourcing. For example, certain positions require psychometric assessment and we may use a third party to complete the task with your consent. We use external service providers based in the USA, Asia, and Europe to help us manage your application and we will therefore need to send your information to an administrator with processing and/or data storage facilities in these locations.
6. Taking care of your personal information

ANZ may retain personal information about unsuccessful applicants for positions for up to 12 months, where appropriate, to enable us to contact them in case other suitable roles become available.
