About the Role


The Governance & Communications Lead is a strategic role responsible for the overarching governance of the Data, Digital and Automation  portfolio, ensuring that project delivery aligns with the Institutional Banking division's strategic objectives to Network the Network over the Digital Backbone. This role is central to the development, implementation & communication of portfolio strategies, PMO & governance, and you will ensure that projects are executed with excellence, risks are mitigated, and that the governance framework supports the division's transformation journey.

 

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a comprehensive strategy for project governance that aligns with the division's long-term goals.

  • Leading the Project Management Office (PMO) to drive best practices in project management and delivery across the portfolio.

  • Managing governance systems, including project tracking and reporting tools, to provide transparency and control over the project portfolio.

  • Provide advise, assess and propose strategy changes related to resource allocation and placement of resources and identify resourcing needs as well as knowledge and skill gaps.

  • Authoring executive level governance & briefing packs to communicate delivery progress & strategic opportunities for change.

  • Partnering with stakeholders to create a road map for program opportunities to both meet stakeholder needs and to contribute to the achievement of the division’s strategic and business objectives.

  • Designing and implementing change communication strategy that will drive the portfolio’s profile & adoption of delivered change, helping to deliver upon benefits committed to at inception.

  • Driving and implementing change management for the Institutional Data, Digital and Automation program including identifying opportunities to optimise the program’s portfolio’s adoption.

What will your day look like?


As the Governance & Communications Lead, you will: 

 

  • Strategically assess the project portfolio to ensure it supports the division's strategic direction and delivers value.

  • Partner in strategic discussions with the Lead - Data, Digital & Automation and other stakeholders to align governance & communications with digital transformation efforts.

  • Oversee the PMO's activities, including financial management, ensuring that project managers have the tools and support needed for successful project execution.

  • Manage and enhance governance systems to improve project tracking, risk management, and reporting capabilities.

  • Ensure the appropriate communication of portfolio strategy, progress and delivery with senior executives, project teams and the wider stakeholder community – with a view to driving adoption and uptake of delivered capability.

What will you bring?


To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Extensive project management experience within the lending space of institutional or corporate banking Institutional division.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large, high-performing project teams.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven track record of building consensus, managing expectations and influencing outcomes.

  • Proficiency in managing complex, cross-functional projects and delivering them on time and within budget.

  • Experience in systematising governance processes and leveraging technology to enhance project delivery and in managing change and driving adoption of new governance practices in a multinational setting

  • Ability to work at pace across an ever changing and diverse landscape.

  • Ability to foster a culture of innovation within the governance and PMO functions.
