About the Role
The Corporate Affairs team at Suncorp Bank plays a pivotal role in fostering and safeguarding the Bank’s reputation across our employees, customers, and the communities we serve. As part of this dynamic team, you will report to the Executive Manager (EM) of Corporate Affairs, contributing to the development and execution of communications that support the Bank’s corporate priorities and strategic objectives.
In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to senior spokespeople and leaders, offering strategic counsel and support across all areas of corporate affairs. This includes guiding content strategy, people communications, media relations, and issues management in close collaboration with the broader Corporate Affairs team. Your expertise will be crucial in helping to shape the narrative and enhance the Bank’s position in the market while navigating complex communications challenges.

What will your day look like?
As the Manager for Corporate Affairs, you will:
- Implementing communication strategies that align with business goals, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels in close collaboration with senior leadership.
- Overseeing the creation and distribution of content across both internal and external channels, ensuring it aligns with the organisation’s behaviours and strategic goals.
- Managing the company’s online presence, create content for digital channels, and enhance the company’s digital footprint to engage target audiences.
- Maintaining alignment of the company’s brand across platforms and manage public relations strategies and issues to protect and enhance the company’s reputation, while monitoring media coverage and responding to potential reputation risks.Handling media inquiries, preparing press releases, and general media engagement. Additionally, you will develop internal communication strategies to engage employees, keep them informed on key initiatives, and ensure alignment between internal and external messaging.
- In the event of a crisis, you will prepare and execute crisis communication plans and manage messaging.
- Collaborating with other departments to ensure consistent communication and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
- Tracking and reporting on communication metrics and provide leadership with insights into how communications support business goals.
