About the Role
The Delivery Lead role in New Zealand Technology is a dynamic leadership position that blends technical expertise with people leadership. This role focuses on fostering a high-performing team culture while guiding team members’ growth to develop a world-class practice.
The Delivery Lead keeps a sharp eye on strategic workforce planning and ensures the members of the Chapter have the support and guidance to deliver on their missions.
The Delivery Lead has a foot in both people and delivery camps, meaning you will spend time across tech delivery activities, driving innovation, uplifting tech capability, setting standards and principles and driving innovation for the Chapter, although not in a delivery team.

What will your day look like?
- A proven record in managing and mentoring teams, with a commitment to building team capabilities and fostering a positive, inclusive culture.
- Hands-on technical experience and a can-do approach towards Development, Automation and managing continuous improvement.
- Design and implement new patterns to achieve capability uplift and continuous improvement of our platforms
- Ability to code, script, perform design and code reviews and be involved with design discussions about architecture, data models and business logic
- Experience in solving application-level design problems that result in robust systems
- Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing others by providing technical guidance and leadership
- Obsessed with software engineering excellence, new methodologies, and leading change
- Open to explore, experiment and implement new technologies and tools
- Experience working in cross functional, Agile, and continuous delivery approaches
- Strong attention to detail and demonstrates problem solving capability to develop and deliver quality applications that delight customers
- Have a thirst and willingness to expand knowledge with new technologies bringing benefits into domain
What will you bring?
- Minimum 12+ years of relevant work experience in Banking Domain.
- Strong experience in Software Development (Wholesale Lending Product) DevOps principles and building robust CI/CD pipelines
- Significant leadership experience; including identifying, guiding, and developing talent across an enterprise scale organisation.
- Extensive experience working in large enterprise & globally distributed systems and be able to work with operations and architecture groups developing scalable and supportable applications.
- Engineering experience of at least 10 years, preferrable in one of the following: (Java development, NodeJS development & Integration Development)
- Expert in designing and implementing complex solutions across multiple application platforms.
- Expert in problem solving and critical thinking and working experience in agile methodologies.
- Expert in one or multiple programming languages and frameworks including Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets), Struts, Spring, Web technologies including XML applications.
- Strong background in Agile and hybrid delivery frameworks, with the ability to adapt methodologies to suit project scale and complexity.

- Experience managing complex system integrations, large-scale migrations, and lifecycle management across multi-platform environments.
- Demonstrated financial management skills - tracking budgets, forecasts, and benefits realisation.
- Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills across all levels, including senior executives and vendor partners.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to use data-driven insights for decision-making and performance tracking.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to drive alignment and engagement.
- High adaptability and problem-solving capability in a dynamic and evolving environment.
- Proactive, outcome-driven, and able to make sound judgments under pressure
